Two Sisters. One Shared Obsession.

A doctor in Lahore and a marketer in London — and a gap in the UK market neither of them could ignore.

We grew up in Pakistan wearing Banarasi sarees to every wedding, every Eid, every event that mattered. Our mother had them. Our aunts argued over them. We always knew they were something special — handwoven in Varanasi, thread by golden thread, by families who had done nothing else for generations.

The problem? Getting an authentic one in Pakistan is genuinely difficult. Varanasi is in India. The politics between our two countries means the supply is inconsistent, the market is fragmented, and you can spend months tracking down a genuine piece — and still not be certain.

When Jannat moved to London, she found Banarasi sarees everywhere — local shops in Southall, Green Street, Wembley. The demand was there. The love was there. But there was no brand. No online destination. No one telling the story of the craft. Banarasi was always on the menu — it was never the restaurant.

She called Fatima. They talked until 3am. Lunaraé London was born from that call — two sisters who simply couldn't let the gap stay & introduced Lunaraé London.
